MFF Awards 2023

The Jury members Macià Florit, Mariona Borrull and Nora Haddad, and the Youth Jury members Ainhoa Ferreras, Salah Haddad, Clara Macaya and Joaquim Mayol, have decided to distinguish the following films:

Youth Jury Award

Ruthless

Matthew McGuigan | 13 MIN | Ireland

For the use of music throughout the film as a source of light in a hostile environment such as Northern Ireland in the 1970s. We especially appreciate the fact of mixing documentary images with fictional images, together with the great work with the actors. We very much appreciate the use of irony in tackling such a conflictive subject without making it dramatic.

Paris 70

Dani Feixas | 15 MIN | Catalonia

For the tenderness and realism with which they deal with a subject that affects so many families without falling into victimism.

Per construir una faula romàntica i onírica que ens refigura l’èxode turístic a les illes Balears. Per un tractament inèdit de la llum sobreexposada, que impregna forma i contingut. Una obra d’orfebreria que tracta amb enginy la meteoropatia.
