The 17th edition of the Manlleu Film Festival opens its call for entries
The Festival announces registrations are now open for shortfilms that would like to participate in one of the 3 categories of the 2019 edition, that will take place from 11 to 14 July. Submissions can be completed until Februrary 18, 2019.
The city of Manlleu (Barcelona) will host a four days open-air film festival at the heart of Catalonia. The Festival, founded in 2003, aims to highlight the best local and national productions and to bring some of the most interesting and innovative shortfilms made round the world into the city.
The MFF 2019 selection committee’s main criteria for shortfilms to be included in this year’s categories is their quality and general relevance. The Festival focuses on those projects that explore the limits between fiction and non-fiction. Only films produced after January 1st, 2018 can be submitted at MFF 2019.
The selected shortfilms will compete in 3 different categories: International, for films produced in any country in the world, National, for films produced or co-produced in Catalonia or in any Catalan-speaking territory, and Osona, for local shortfilms produced by companies based in Osona (local region in Barcelona province). Films directed by Osona based directors, or Osona based heads of departments will also be considered.
The National and International awarded films will receive a cash prizeof 1200€. The Osona category winner will receive a cash prize of 600€.
